I Love Mexican Food
So many people (by people I mean Americans with discernible income) don’t want to eat the same thing two days in a row. To number the times someone has suggested a restaurant and someone else “shot it down” because they had a similar type of food within the last two days. Oh, how frustrating that is!
On Wednesday I had a burrito from Gringo’s, yesterday for lunch was tamales with rice and beans and tortilla chips, last night for dinner was homemade tortilla soup, today for lunch was Bullritos (as I write this I am finishing some leftovers).
I have always found it interesting that so many cultures have the same ingredients available to them, yet created different dishes. Mexican food is a blend of traditional Spanish with native Central American. I don’t know what it is about it that I like so much. I don’t like tomatoes, so “no” to pico de gallo, but yet I like salsa. I do not like avocadoes, or guacamole. I prefer refried beans to other types (refried black beans are fine).
I like cooking Mexican food too. We make fajitas, tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and tostadas most often.
Of course it’s not all about meat, cheese, and tortillas. I also love desert! Tres leches cake is my favorite. You get a good one with just the right about of heavy cream, yum!
Anywho, just thought I would share my love for Mexican food. I like other foods too, but Mexican food is my favorite.
I love Mexican food too. The sad thing is, my wife does not. I often tell her if I would have known this before we got married, we would have had a prenuptual agreement that said we would have Mexican at least once a week.
